Its origins date back to Medioeval times and make it one of the earliest places offering hospitality in the whole of Europe: as far back as in the year 1000 AD there is mention of a large market sited where the square is now, and in 1300 AD an inn already existed where the Hotel Restaurant now stands. The entrance, which remains the same today, was situated between the other two most ancient of institutions : the hospital and the church.

Today that same hospitality, combining a love of gastronomic traditions with a special regard to giving a comfortable and up-to-date welcome is offered to visitors from all over the world. When they return home, they take with them the memory of an incomparable sensory experience.
